Lesson Count Review

Determining the optimal number of lessons to include in a deck can be a challenging aspect of deck building. Card games often rely on the experience of the player base when deciding the number of resources, like Lands (MTG) or Energy (Pokemon), to include in a deck. In this article, we will move away from conventional wisdoms and conduct a critical analysis of a deck’s lesson count, establish an understanding of the number of Lessons we should play for our power curve and will even walk away with some other very strong insights into deck building based on what Lessons can tell us about the game.

Godric Gryffindor - Any card that gives you another action is pretty good in my eyes. As someone who does not like drawing to many cards, my goal when building my Gryffindor deck was 2 fold. First was to only draw 3 cards a turn, and second was to draw the cards without having to use an action to do so cause that would defeat the purpose. The obvious way to do so was with the Gryffindor common room. I also used the OG Harry to help with that, yes he took 2 actions...

Today we're excited to announce we're launching the Daily Prophet: HPTCG edition!

This is a blog-style section of our website with weekly articles covering topics from deck building to gameplay reviews to strategies and everything else that YOU want to write about, because these articles will be submitted by YOU! We want to hear about and share your in depth thoughts about everything related to the Harry Potter Trading Card Game. Have a favorite deck that you've been working on for years? Share some iterations and the reasons behind them! Have a series of cards you love? Share them and why! Have a favorite memory from a game you played or opening packs? Share your stories! We want this to highlight all of your favorite memories, cards, decks, and ideas.

Some guidelines:

  • Articles can be about Classic or Revival
  • Articles should be focused on positivity and supporting the community
  • Articles will mostly be published in the order received
